Irori Sanzoku

Iwakuni’s popular outdoor restaurant

This popular local chain operates several restaurants within Iwakuni City, and has been publicized nationwide via TV coverage.
When you arrive at Irori Sanzoku, you will firstly be surprised by the restaurant’s boldly decorated exterior. In the evening, diners are welcomed by the lights of many paper lanterns. The large premises have a special, festival-like atmosphere, and there is Japanese-style fireside seating as well as kotatsu (heated low tables). Lush trees surround the seating area, and with a waterfall tumbling over a small pond, you can enjoy the seasonal Japanese scenery as you dine.
Irori Sanzoku’s classic menu features hearty teriyaki chicken, chunky rice balls, and other dishes that were often eaten by sanzoku (“bandits”), true to the name of the restaurant. A variety of other meals can also be enjoyed, such as barbecued meats cooked on a shichirin clay brazier, udon noodles, and more.
