Facilities Around Lake Yasaka

One of the largest dams in the Chugoku region. Family groups can enjoy camping and boat trips in the surrounding area.

The beautiful gorge, approximately 1.5km long, which follows the Oze River that flows along the border between Yamaguchi Prefecture and Hiroshima Prefecture, was carved through the erosion of granite by river water in the Cretaceous Period, and forms a unique and impressive sight with its perpendicular cliffs and layered rocks.
A walking route has been put in place, and in the downstream area is Yasaka Dam, one of Japan’s largest-scale multipurpose dams. The 560m-long Yasaka Ohashi Bridge is the largest dam bridge in West Japan, and stands in beautiful harmony with the surrounding greenery. The huge fountain is also worth seeing. In addition, with plentiful leisure facilities such as a campsite and boat rental, the area can be enjoyed all year round.
Furthermore, the “Lake Plaza Yasaka” rest house, which stands on the lakeside of Yasaka Dam, offers meals, cafe drinks, and souvenirs for purchase.
