The Shimane Arts Center is a complex of \u2018Iwami Art Museum\u2019 and \u2018Iwami Arts Theater\u2019. This center, a hub of arts and culture of the Iwami region, offers the opportunity for everyone to appreciate various types of excellent art and culture with art, music and theater in great chemistry.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cGrand Toit\u201d, which means \u201cLarge Roof\u201d in French, is an establishment that serves as both a museum of art and a theater. The large roof and walls are made of red tiles Sekishu-kawara, which inherit the Iwami region\u2019s culture and traditions. The unique red tiles stand out in the cityscape. The appearance of the tiles changes with light \u2013 at some moments they appear gold, light blue when the sky is blue, and turn greenish at dusk.<\/p>\n
